Frequently Asked Questions

(If your question isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our friendly reception team on 9456 2600 or 9456 3500.)

Are children bulk-billed?

Absolutely! We understand the pressure parents can feel to meet the costs of raising a family. We bulk-bill all our patients aged 15 years and under so you never have to worry that you can’t afford to take your child to see a doctor.

How do I know if I should I book a short or long appointment?

Standard consultations are 15 minutes. Please book longer appointments for women’s health including pap smears, IUD and implanon procedures. For initial contraception discussions, only a single appointment is needed. Extended consultations are recommended for mental health, insurance reports and complex workers compensation issues, as well as when you have complicated issues or more than four areas to discuss.

How can I get my blood test results?

Your doctor will ask our receptionists to phone you for an appointment if there are any concerns with blood test results. A copy of the results can be picked up at reception if required.

Do you do travel vaccines?

Yes. We are an accredited Yellow Fever vaccination centre; can advise you on broad range of travel medicines. Keep in mind that many travel medicines need to be taken weeks or months before you travel for them to provide you with adequate protection. It’s best to book your travel medicine at the same time as booking your trip.

When is my child’s next immunisation due?

You can check the Australian Government’s current immunisation schedule here. Please remember to bring your child’s blue book when you come in for immunisations.

What kind of emergencies can we help you with?

We can help with emergencies such as work related injuries, lacerations and asthma exacerbations. For serious injuries or life threatening injuries, please phone 000 for an ambulance or go to Hornsby Kuringai Hospital or Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Do I need an appointment for a specialist referral?

If you are in regular contact with your GP and they are aware of your need for specialist care we can possibly provide this over the phone or with a quick ‘fit-in’ appointment. Please check with our receptionists for more information.
